At Fitletic, we want to ensure you make the most of your running belt.
To help you get started, we've put together this comprehensive guide on how to use and care for your belt!
By following these guidelines, you can extend the life of your belt and have a comfortable, hassle-free running experience.
Proper care is essential to keeping your running belt in optimal condition. Here's how to ensure it stays in great shape:
Keep Your Zipper Clean: To prevent the buildup of sweat, which can corrode the zipper, make sure to regularly clean it.
Hand Wash or Soak: When it's time for cleaning, opt for a gentle hand wash with warm water and mild detergent. Hang your belt to dry; avoid using a washing machine or dryer.
Organize Your Items: When storing items in your belt, put the largest item in first, followed by your smaller essentials such as gels, salt tablets, and keys.
Avoid Overloading: Be mindful not to overstuff the pouch. Overloading the pouch consistently can strain it and lead to zipper breakage over time.
Wear your Fitletic belt correctly for the most efficient running experience.
Belt Placement: Our running belts are designed to sit low across the widest part of your hips, approximately halfway down your buttocks. This positioning helps anchor the belt, preventing it from interfering with your bladder and breathing.
Snug but Not Restrictive: Ensure the belt fits snugly but doesn't feel restrictive. Use the two regulators to adjust the elastic strap, moving them towards the buckle to extend the strap.
Over Your Pants, Under Your Shirt: Wear the belt over your pants but under your shirt to prevent any discomfort caused by shirt movement during your run.
Front or Back Placement: Experiment with wearing the belt in the front and back to find the most comfortable placement for you. The belt is designed to work both ways.
Whether you're using our hydration belts or adding the Extra Mile Add-on to any of our belts, these quick tips will keep hydrated and ready to go.
Preventing leaks: Sometimes, the rubber seal (gasket) inside the bottle cap spout can flip out of place, leading to unexpected leaks. This can happen with new caps. The solution? Push the seal back into place and you'll be back in business!
Smart Running: If you wear your belt high or worry about hitting it with your elbow, here's a trick. Face the bottles toward your body. They'll sit snugly and won't get in your way, whether you wear your belt in the front or back. Perfect for quick access during your run!
Quick-Flow Race Caps: We've got you covered with quick-flow race caps on all our bottles. Unlike pull-out caps, they seal tightly and perform faster. Just remember, any quick-flow caps like this aren't suitable for carbonated drinks (such as Nuun.)
Attaching the Extra Mile Add-On: Turn ANY Fitletic belt into a hydration belt! Slide your belt through the elastic loop inside the add-on. Reattach the bottle, then place the add-on where it's most comfortable for you. Now you're set for a well-hydrated workout.
